Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor, responsible for career guidance

   

In 1979 he graduated from the Kharkiv Pharmaceutical Institute. He studied in full-time graduate school (1979-1982). Since 1982 he has been working at the National University of Pharmacy, first as an assistant at the Department of Organic Chemistry (1982-1983), an assistant at the Department of Factory Drug Technology (1983-1984), an assistant at the Department of Pharmaceutical Drug Technology (1984-1989). From 1989 to 2010 he worked as an associate professor of pharmacy technology. From 1993 to 2016, simultaneously with the work of a teacher, he worked as the director of the publishing center of NUPh.

In 1982, after graduating from graduate school, under the guidance of prof. І.М. Pertseva, defended his dissertation on “Study and application of pectins in the technology of corrective drugs with flamingo and caffeine-sodium benzoate.”

In 2009 he defended his doctoral dissertation under the supervision of prof. O.I. Tikhonov on the topic “Theoretical and experimental substantiation of the technology of lipophilic extract of bee pollen and drugs based on it” and since 2010 has been working as a professor (in 2012 awarded the academic title of professor) of the Department of Drug Technology.

The direction of scientific activity is the study and use of natural compounds in drug technology, the development of complex drugs based on them. He is a co-author of a new pharmaceutical substance – lipophilic extract of bee pollen and a drug based on it – ointment “Lipovit”. He has published more than 275 works, including 4 monographs; is the author of 5 copyright certificates, 6 patents, about 60 articles in scientific journals.

At the Department of Drug Technology he gives lectures, conducts laboratory and seminar classes on biopharmacy, methodology and logic of scientific research, drug technology, manages the preparation of diploma and master’s theses.

O.M. Kotenko is a co-author of textbooks: “Workshop on Pharmacy Technology of Medicines” (2002); “Textbook on Pharmacy Technology of Medicines” (2002); Biopharmacy Workshop (2003); “Collection of tests on pharmaceutical technology of drugs” (2008); “Drug technology. Training manual “(2009); “Excipients in drug technology” (2010); “To the entrant of the National University of Pharmacy” (1993-2019); co-author of 12 textbooks; prepared about 60 other educational and methodical works.

Conducts public activities: held the position of Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee (1989-1993) and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee for career guidance (1994-2012), Director of the Publishing Center of NUPh (1993-2016), responsible for career guidance of the Department of Technology drugs.

For significant contribution to the development of pharmaceutical science and the industry as a whole, he was awarded diplomas of NUPh (2006, 2013, 2016, 2019), Kharkiv City Council of People’s Deputies (1996); Kyiv District Council of People’s Deputies of Kharkiv (1997); Pharmaceutical Department of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2000); Ministry of Health of Ukraine (2001); The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2005); MES of Ukraine (2007); Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2009). awarded the badge “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” (2010), Diploma of Honored Lecturer of NUPh (2016), included in the “Golden Book of Honor” of the National University of Pharmacy (2005).
